Program dates
This program lasts from the time you are enrolled through August 31, 2024.
Program cost
There is no cost to your organization to participate. This program is fully funded by NIDA.
Sample analysis
All samples will be analyzed for the presence of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, xylazine, naloxone, and each of their respective metabolites. Additional information on these biomarkers can be found here.
Sample collection kits
Two shipments of sample kits will be sent to your participating sampling location(s). The first shipment will consist of between 11 - 13 kits to get you through the first 6 months of the program, and the second shipment will be for the remainder of the kits necessary to sample through August 31, 2024.
Sampling frequency
Participants are expected to send one influent wastewater sample to Biobot, using the Biobot provided kits, every other week.
To best integrate with your wastewater facility’s normal operating practices, the selection of which day of the week works best to sample is up to you. We only ask that you keep your day of the week consistent across sampling weeks, if possible.
If, for any reason, you are unable to send a sample, please let our team know at support@biobot.io.
Biobot kits & sample logs
Information on the contents of Biobot’s kits can be found here, and instructions for using the kits and completing the sample log accompanying each sample are located here.
Note that flow is a required field on the sample log form for samples submitted as a part of this program. More details on why we require flow for high risk substance analysis can be found here.
